What is rosacea?
Rosacea is a chronic disease mainly affecting the face, caused by a combination of genetic (tendency to redness or dilated vessels), immune and environmental factors (abnormal inflammatory response triggered by UVs or the cutaneous microbiota). It manifests as redness, pimples and sometimes eye complications.
What treatments are available?
While there is no definitive cure, proactive management including medical treatments (oral or local), sun protection and redness reduction through the use of vascular laser can help reduce rosacea flare-ups and their intensity.
