Mole screening
Preventive medicine and explanations on how to protect yourself from the sun
Annual mole screening reveals suspicious skin lesions that may require close monitoring or rapid surgical removal.
During the screening session, international recommendations concerning UV protection are clearly explained to the patient.
Acne management
Early acne management helps prevent scarring
Juvenile acne is very common in adolescence (90% of teenagers), and regresses before the age of 20 for men and around the age of 25 for women. Nevertheless, acne can persist or appear in adult women in the form of microcysts or inflammatory papules whose evolution varies according to the hormonal cycle.
Residual scarring caused by acne can be avoided if inflammatory lesions are properly and promptly treated.
Management of
hair loss
Pruritus, dandruff and hair loss are regularly observed and treated at the practice.
Hair loss is a frequent cause for consultation in dermatology. It can have several origins: androgenic alopecia, vitamin deficiency, inflammatory scalp diseases, alopecia…
Management of warts
Very common mucocutaneous viral infection of children and adults
Warts are skin lesions caused by papillomaviruses (HPV). They affect between 7% and 10% of the population.
They may regress spontaneously (1-2 years after onset) or require treatment (liquid nitrogen, application of keratolytic creams, etc.).
Management of nail fungus
Most frequent nail pathology
Fungus infections of the nails always require a sample to certify the presence of the fungus, as treatments for nail fungus take a long time.
Managing psoriasis
There are different clinical forms of psoriasis
Psoriasis is an inflammatory disease of the skin and joints that affects around 2% of the population.
Local treatments (application of creams, UV phototherapy) and systemic treatments (immunosuppressive therapies, biotherapy) may be proposed. Overall management (with the attending physician) is desirable, as psoriasis patients are at greater risk of developing hypertension, diabetes and adverse cardiovascular events.
Managing eczema
Frequent disease in children, with declining prevalence in adults
Eczema is a pruritic inflammatory skin condition. There are different forms of eczema: atopic, allergic contact, irritant, nummular and cracked.
Treatment varies according to the cause of the eczema. In most cases, local treatment is sufficient.
Minor surgery
Performing minor surgery in the office
Flattening of acrochordon (molluscum pendulum), curettage of molluscum contagiosum or excision of skin cancer can be carried out on condition that sun exposure is avoided for 2 months following minor surgery.
Management of various ano-genital pathologies
Various symptoms are treated at the practice
Pruritus and discomfort in the ano-genital region are frequent reasons for consultation. There are many causes, including sexually transmitted diseases (condylomas, etc.), inflammatory diseases (lichen sclerosus, allergic or irritant eczema, psoriasis, etc.), mucocutaneous cancers and bacterial or fungal infections.
