Consultation

Skin Care

Tailor-made consultation.

The right products for your skin.

To better understand your skin’s needs, we recommend that you bring all the products you apply to your skin during your consultation (soap, make-up remover lotion, moisturizing cream, oils, make-up, etc.).

Botulinum toxin

Botulinum toxin (BT) has been used to reduce facial wrinkles for some twenty years.

How does TB work?

TB acts by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that transmits nerve signals to muscles. This leads to reversible paralysis of the muscles concerned.

How is the injection session carried out?

During the TB injection session, the dermatologist will ask you to make “grimaces” to define the injection points and the quantity of TB to be injected. Injections are painless and do not require the application of anaesthetic cream.

When are results visible?

Results are visible after 1 week and are maintained for an average of 4 months. If an asymmetry persists 10 days after the injection, a correction session is quickly proposed.
It is important to take certain precautions after a TB session to avoid complications.

What precautions should be taken after the session?

In the 3 hours following the injection, it is recommended not to lie down, not to massage the injected areas, not to do sports, sauna or hamman, not to wear a helmet and not to wear swimming or diving goggles.

What are the possible side effects of TB injections?

Side effects of botulinum toxin are generally mild and transient. They may include: redness, bruising, headaches.
It is recommended not to have more than 2 TB sessions per year.

What are the contraindications to TB injections?

Contraindications to the use of TB are: neuromuscular diseases (e.g. myasthenia), allergy to TB, pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Treatment

axillary hyperhidrosis

Annual injection of TB into the axillary region drastically reduces excessive axillary sweating.

How does the session work?

The patient must shave the area to be injected 36 hours before the session. An anaesthetic cream is applied 1 hour before the session, under a cling film, to improve patient comfort during the injections. The TB injection session lasts 40 minutes.

When are results observable?

The effect of TB appears progressively within 2 to 15 days and lasts for 6 to 10 months, after which it must be repeated to maintain results.

What are the possible side effects of TB injections in the armpits?

Edema, redness or small haematomas may occur (but disappear rapidly). Skin dryness may occur, or insufficient results (very rare).

What are the contraindications to TB injections?

Contraindications to the use of TB are: neuromuscular diseases (e.g. myasthenia), allergy to TB, pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Vascular laser

The vascular laser is an aesthetic treatment that targets and removes the small blood vessels visible under the skin. It is used to treat a variety of illnesses including :

  • erythrosis, a diffuse, even reddening of the skin
  • couperose, characterized by dilated blood vessels appearing under the skin.
  • erythro-couperosis, a skin condition characterized by redness and dilated blood vessels on the face.
  • ruby spots, small red or purplish spots that appear on the skin.
  • rosacea, a chronic skin disease characterized by redness, pimples and dilated blood vessels.

How does the vascular laser work?

The vascular laser works by targeting hemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen in the blood. The laser’s energy is absorbed by hemoglobin, causing it to generate heat. This heat damages blood vessel walls, causing them to shrink and eventually disappear.

How many sessions are needed to achieve a satisfactory result?

Vascular laser treatment is generally performed over a few sessions (1 to 3 sessions), spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. Results are usually visible after the first session, but it may take several sessions to achieve optimal results.

What happens during a vascular laser session?

The patient comes to the appointment with clean, perfectly cleansed skin, free of moisturizer. A gel is applied to the area to be treated. Each “shot” feels like a “rubber band”. No anaesthetic cream can be applied, as it alters the redness of the skin. At the end of the session, the doctor applies a healing cream to the patient’s face, who can apply make-up if he or she wishes.

What are the side effects of vascular laser treatment?

Side effects of vascular laser treatment are generally minor and disappear rapidly. They may include: redness, edema (mosquito bite effect), ecchymosis (bruising), or pruritus (itching). In very rare cases, depressed scars may appear in the event of overdosage.

What are the contraindications to vascular laser treatment?

Contraindications to laser treatment include: sun exposure, recent tanning, self-tanning, the presence of permanent make-up on the areas to be treated, taking photosensitizing medication, photosensitizing diseases (e.g. lupus), pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Pigment laser

Laser pigmentation is an aesthetic treatment used to reduce pigmentation spots on the skin. Pigment spots are areas of skin that are darker than the rest of the skin. They can be caused by many factors, including sun exposure, aging, hormones and medications.

How does the pigment laser work?

The pigment laser sends energy onto the skin, which is absorbed by melanin (the pigment that gives the spot its dark color). The energy is then converted into heat, causing the melanin to fragment and be eliminated by the body.

How does a pigment laser session work?

The patient comes to the appointment with clean, perfectly cleansed skin, free of moisturizer. A gel is applied to the area to be treated. Each “shot” feels like a “rubber band”. No anesthetic cream is applied. At the end of the session, the doctor applies a healing cream to the patient’s face, who can apply make-up if he or she wishes. At the end of the session and for 2 weeks thereafter, the treated spots will darken and the pigment will gradually fade.

How many sessions are needed to achieve a satisfactory result?

Several sessions are required to achieve optimal results. Treatment results vary from patient to patient, but most patients see a significant improvement in the appearance of their pigmented spots from the very first session.

What are the side effects of pigment laser treatment?

Pigment laser treatment is generally considered safe and without serious side effects. However, it can cause redness, swelling and itching in the treated area. These side effects are generally temporary and disappear within a few days.

What are the contraindications to pigment laser treatment?

Contraindications to laser treatment include: recent tanning, self-tanning, the presence of permanent make-up on the areas to be treated, taking photosensitizing medication, photosensitizing diseases (e.g. lupus), pregnancy and breast-feeding.

Genesis Laser

The Genesis laser is an aesthetic treatment that induces skin remodeling by stimulating collagen production. It is used in a variety of situations:

  • management of acne scars
  • reduction of dilated pores
  • reduction of diffuse skin redness
  • reduction of fine lines

How does the Genesis laser work?

The Genesis laser “heats” the dermis and stimulates fibroblasts to produce collagen. This skin remodeling can be performed on all phototypes.

How many sessions are needed to achieve a satisfactory result?

Genesis laser treatment is performed over several sessions (4 to 6 sessions), spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart. A redensification of the skin is visible 3 weeks after the first session, but it may take several sessions to achieve optimal results. To maintain results (for facial rejuvenation or dilated pores), a maintenance session is required every 4 to 5 months.

How does the session work?

The patient comes to the appointment with clean, perfectly cleansed skin, free of moisturizer. The doctor sweeps the area to be treated with the Genesis laser without touching the patient’s skin. The patient feels a heat/stinging effect that is quite tolerable. At the end of the session, the patient’s skin has a rosy appearance, and make-up can be applied if desired.

What are the side effects of Genesis laser treatment?

Side effects of the Genesis laser are generally minor and disappear rapidly (pinkish/red appearance of the skin after the session).

What are the contraindications to Genesis laser treatment?

Contraindications to laser treatment include: recent tanning, self-tanning, the presence of permanent make-up on the areas to be treated, taking photosensitizing medication, photosensitizing diseases (e.g. lupus), the tendency to develop keloid scars, pregnancy and breast-feeding.
