Retinol Peel
What is a retinol peel?
A retinol peel is a medical peel designed to accelerate epidermal renewal and stimulate collagen production in the dermis. The aim of this treatment is to even out the complexion (by reducing skin spots), tighten pores, give a “radiance boost” and tone and firm the skin.
How does the session work?
During the session, the dermatologist will apply the peeling product in several strokes with a brush to your face and/or neck and décolleté. The application of the product may induce a slight warming sensation.
When are results visible?
Results begin to be visible after 3 to 4 weeks. For optimal results, a second session is suggested 6 to 8 weeks later.
What precautions should I take before the session?
Treatments containing vitamin A (retinol, tretinoin, etc.) or benzoyl peroxide (Benzac) must be discontinued 2 weeks before the treatment.
The skin must be clean, makeup-free and free of creams (sunscreen or moisturizer) on the day of treatment.
What precautions should be taken after the session?
The product should be rinsed off 8 hours later (4 hours later if you have sensitive skin).
A fine desquamation will appear between D3 and D7 post-peeling.
It is imperative to apply the moisturizing cream prescribed by the dermatologist several times a day.
Strict daily use of a 50+ sun cream is strongly recommended for optimal results.
No social eviction is recommended after this treatment.
What are the possible side effects of retinol peels?
Side effects are generally mild and transient. They may include: pigmentation disorders, allergy to the peeling product (rare).
What are the contraindications to retinol peels?
Contraindications to retinol 3% peels include: taking vitamin A derivatives (roacutane®), an allergy to one of the peel’s active ingredients, a recent dermabrasion or laser session (less than 2 months old), an active skin infection (herpes, impetigo, etc.), pregnancy and breast-feeding.
How much does a session cost?
Face: from 124 euros/session excluding VAT or 150 euros/session including VAT21%
Face, décolleté and neck: from 140 euros/session excluding VAT or 170 euros/session including VAT21%.
All aesthetic medicine services must be preceded by an informative consultation in which the dermatologist explains the technique used and the results you can expect.
