Scalp PRP mesotherapy
What is mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a medical technique that involves administering small quantities of drugs, vitamins, amino acids or other active substances directly into the dermis, the middle layer of the skin. It is mainly used in aesthetic medicine, but can also be applied in other fields such as sports medicine or pain management.
What is PRP?
PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma, is a medical treatment used in aesthetic medicine, dermatology and sports medicine to promote tissue healing and regeneration.
PRP is a concentration of platelets obtained from the patient’s own blood. Platelets release growth factors that stimulate the repair of damaged cells.
A small quantity of blood is drawn, then placed in a centrifuge to isolate platelet-rich plasma. This plasma is then injected into the areas to be treated.
How does the session work?
During the session, the dermatologist takes a blood sample, then separates the PRP using a centrifuge. The skin is then cleaned and disinfected, and the PRP is injected into the scalp. The session lasts around 40 minutes.
What precautions should I take before the session?
The scalp must be clean and free of any styling products (gel, wax, etc.).
What precautions should be taken after the session?
After the session, the skin may be slightly red and sensitive. We recommend avoiding exposure to the sun.
What are the possible side effects?
Side effects are generally mild and transient: bruising, swelling or tenderness at the injection site. These symptoms usually disappear within a few hours to a few days. The risk of infection is very low if the procedure is performed by a qualified dermatologist.
What are the contraindications?
Contraindications include: taking anticoagulants, a history of keloid scars, active skin infection or inflammation (herpes, impetigo…), pregnancy and breast-feeding.
How much does a session cost?
Scalp: from 305 euros excluding VAT (or 369.05 euros including 21% VAT).
All aesthetic medicine services must be preceded by an informative consultation in which the dermatologist explains the technique used and the results you can expect.
