I have wrinkled skin on my cheeks: what can I do?

These are fine, loose or wrinkled folds, visible at rest or on the move, often associated with a loss of skin firmness, elasticity or density. Dermal wrinkling is also common on the cheeks, under the eyes and on the neck.

What are the causes?

  1. Natural skin aging (intrinsic)
    • Decrease in collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
    • Thinning of the dermis and loss of tone.
  2. Photo-aging (sun)
    • UV damage to elastic fibers (solar elastosis).
    • Early appearance of fine lines and loss of density.
  3. Chronic dehydration
    • Dry or atopic skin with small folds.
  4. Subcutaneous fat loss
    • Melting of cheek volumes, with an impression of excessively large, wrinkled skin (thinning).

What can we do?

Consult your aesthetic dermatologist to evaluate the appropriate treatment plan:

1. Appropriate skin care (retinol, retinal, tretinoin):

(including a daily 50+ sun cream).

2. Skinbooster :

Fluid hyaluronic acid injections for deep rehydration without volume gain (subtle plumping, improved wrinkling).

3. Hyaluronic acid :

Injecting hyaluronic acid to restore volume

4. ND:YAG laser (non-ablative laser) :

Controlled heat dermal remodeling (No social eviction, gradual tightening effect. 4 sessions 2 weeks apart are required to obtain a firmer appearance)

5. Ablative fractional CO₂ laser :

Skin remodeling inducing the production of type I and III collagen and elastin.
